Listen

A desire for inner space privacy and outer space connection. A sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the main floor activities was the primary focus, all while taking full advantage of the wonderful surroundings of the Gloucester coastline. The home owners wanted a better view of all this natural beauty.

Visualize

The home was perched atop a hill overlooking the Annasquam River and lighthouse, so Bruce borrowed from the natural beauty of the beach sands and coastal rocks and designed a shape that transformed the existing shoe box house into a dynamic, interesting structure, inside and out.

Build

Dynamic design required dynamic framing, but Bruce managed to capture all the views desired. It took precise, detailed drawings and close coordination with the general contractor to accomplish the design intent, especially with working around the existing stairway location. The interior space feels airy, special, and unique.

Bruce’s fantastic vision and design creativity combined with his sensitive, pragmatic and timely approach made working with him an absolute pleasure. He delivered a design to a critically important addition to our home that we couldn’t be more thrilled with.
